Last week I wrote the first Thankful Thursday post as a part of a November series that I will be publishing on Classical Bohemian. This week has been hard. I’ve been battling against fatigue and have felt further worn down by the Presidential election. The reactions of Clinton supporters to Trump supporters has been pretty disturbing. Friends have said they don’t want to hear from me. I did not vote for Obama, but I never acted or spoke to his supporters with such hatred and vitriolic words. Still, I’m thankful we live in a place where we do get to cast a vote and have the freedom to openly disagree with one another. I have the freedom to say I like Obama as a person but not as a President and don’t need to worry about getting locked up for my words.
This week I’ve relied on the little things that brighten my day and keep me going:
- Yorkie kisses
- Dan and Phil videos that make me smile until my cheeks hurt
- Re-reading Wuthering Heights
I feel like I should continue on with the list and sing it to the tune of My Favorite Things from The Sound of Music. What are a few of your favorite things that help you to not feel so bad?
